Should I Attend?

ELMI is geared to senior level leaders engaged in leadership and management at higher education institutions.  ELMI participants are should be managing others, dealing with complex projects, and engaging in problem-solving and planning for their institution.  During ELMI, they are expected to contribute to their own and others learning through sharing knowledge, demonstrating a willingness to learn new approaches and concepts, and immersing themselves in the ELMI experience.

What Will I Learn?

The ELMI small group experience of 32 participants enables a hands-on, interactive experience for the seasoned professional.  High-level program content is delivered through lecture, team problem-solving, group exercises, and connecting with peers on key issues and trends facing campuses today.  The curriculum includes: components on higher education hot topics; navigating campus culture; student life initiatives; organizational and personal effectiveness; opportunities to explore individual growth; and special learning opportunities from experienced leaders in business management.

2012 will see the addition of field trips to other Southern California institutions and social venues off the USC campus.  We will also benefit from classroom time with instructors from USC’s Marshall School of Business.  

When & Where?

The Executive Leadership & Management Institute returns for a second year to a premiere institution, the University of Southern California.   ELMI will open on Sunday, July 22 and conclude on Thursday, July 26.  Housing is on campus at International Residential College, which is convenient to ELMI’s classroom locations.  

What Is the Cost?

Tuition is $2,825 for WACUBO Members and $3,025 for Nonmembers.  Tuition includes the program, all instructional materials, single-occupancy residence hall lodging, and meals from dinner on July 22 through lunch on July 26.  WACUBO will arrange for your on-campus lodging.

How Do I Register?

Registration is typically opened in mid March.  Registration is online at our registration site with immediate payment.  However, registration is not completed until your Nomination Form is submitted.  Registration closes on Friday, June 22.  Cancellations received through Friday, June 29 will receive a refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations after Friday, June 29.

How Do I Complete the Nomination Form?

Upon registration, you will receive an automatic message with instructions for accessing a web based Form.  Complete and submit the form as instructed.   Individuals can be nominated by a leader at their institution or self-nominate.  Nomination forms are due by June 22.  Participants will be notified of their acceptance within one week of their nomination form being received.  If you are not accepted for the 2012 ELMI, you will receive a full refund of the tuition.
