Professional Development Workshops
WACUBO provides a variety of professional development opportunities to meet the needs of campus administrators in higher education. Professional development programs are designed to identify and respond to the professional and continuing education needs of WACUBO members through new and/or revised programs. WACUBO professional development goals are accomplished in a variety of ways including leadership and management institutes, cluster site programs and the distribution of educational materials. Annual Conference
Each year WACUBO holds a general membership conference at various locations within its region. A member institution located close to the conference site is asked to take a leadership role in planning the conference. Recent conferences have been held in Portland, Oregon, Anaheim, California and Salt Lake City, Utah. Past meeting brochures and materials can be found here.
Business Management Institute
BMI, WACUBO’s higher education management institute is designed to deliver the administrative skills and management concepts needed by individuals who are in the business of higher education. The multi-track, multi-year, institute has curriculum applicable to the continuum of professional career levels across college and university management disciplines. Executive Leadership and Management Institute
ELMI is geared to senior level leaders engaged in leadership and management at higher education institutions. ELMI participants should be managing others, dealing with complex projects, and engaging in problem-solving and planning for their institution. During ELMI, they are expected to contribute to their own and others learning through sharing knowledge, demonstrating a willingness to learn new approaches and concepts, and immersing themselves in the ELMI experience.
